Lunchtime O'Booze....

Cheung Chau Explorers On Po Toi Island

Saturday 27th May - Squally thunderstorms failed to deter the hearty; a junk trip to Po Toi, come rain or shine! In fact there was very little of either and a good time was had by all.... Judy & Pete standing on the neck of Turtle Rock!  Posted by Picasa

Junk Trip To The Soko Islands....

The Cheung Chau Explorers (led by the veritable Livingstone Numnum), paid a visit to the nearby Soko Islands. Very enjoyable stomp through swamps, long grass and snakepits in my mountaineering flip-flops! Behind me is Nick The Gnome, followed by Trigg in the blue t-shirt. If I get any more photo's, I'll post them in the next few days. Rumour has it we are off to Po Toi Island on the 27th May, which without doubt will be fantastic! In the meantime, thanks to Martin Williams and Adam.... an excellent day!  Posted by Picasa

Alf.....

This is Alf, a cat I got from the SPCA in Hong Kong. After we moved to Cheung Chau, Alf disappeared (presumed Catnapped). He was seen by his previous owner in Peng Chau and hasn't been seen since.... that was about 2 years ago.  Posted by Picasa

Typhoons Past.... and Future?

A freighter beached on Cheung Chau during Typhoon Rose, I think (if you know differently, please do let me know!). The first typhoon of the season (Typhoon Chanchu) appears to be heading straight towards us.... for the latest, click the HK Observatory link  Posted by Picasa

My Home Town....

The Centre of Long Eaton in Derbyshire where I spent my youth. Not sure about the date of this photo, but looking at the model of Barton's bus and the prams, I would reckon it was taken in the early 70's.  Posted by Picasa

Have You Been Playing With The Spray Starch?

One of my favourite photos! My brother Patrick & his youngest daughter... I thought of many captions for this delightful picture, but I think it's best to come up with one of your own!  Posted by Picasa

My brother Patrick & his family, who live in Bangkok. We were happy to visit them in April 05 - long time no see!  Posted by Picasa

The "boathouse"

This is where we stayed in Koh Samet; a fishing trawler converted into two "rooms" - wish we were there to watch them drag this boat up the beach!!  Posted by Picasa

Eric!

This is Eric the lizard; he lived outside our "boathouse" in Koh Samet. Every morning he would wait on top of the shell to wish us a good morning....  Posted by Picasa

Cheung Chau Bun Festival 2006

Shots from this year's Bun Festival; many of the floats feature children appearing to stand on the top of a bird, stick or in mid-air! Of course it's all an illusion, but very well created!  Posted by Picasa
